How it works

But in a nutshell, this calculator considers the same things that you would for any investment, which are - money, time, and rate of growth (in this case, interest). It uses the compound interest formula to work out how much you will make from your investment at the end of the time period. The formula used here is A = P(1+r/n)nt

Where:
A is the amount you get back at maturity
P is the principal amount you put into the FD
r is the rate of interest
n is the compounding frequency within a year
t is the time period of the FD
