CAGR Calculator

A CAGR calculator helps you determine the compounded annual growth rate of an investment over a specified time period. With this, you can calculate the average return on investment and make comparisons.

How it works

The Fi Money online CAGR calculator uses the following information to tell you the returns you’re making on your investment.

  1. Initial value: This is the value of the investment at the beginning of the investment period.

  2. Final value: This is the expected value at the end of the period, or the actual value in case you’re trying to work out the CAGR for an existing investment.

  3. The number of years the investment was held: This is the length of time over which the investment was held.

  4. This CAGR calculator uses the following formula to calculate the compound annual growth rate:

    CAGR = (Final Value / Initial Value)^(1 / Number of Years) - 1

    The caret (^) symbol is used here to represent exponentiation. That means it indicates that a number is being raised to the power of whatever is on the right of the ^ symbol.
