How to Track PAN Card Status Online?

Table of Contents

Whether it’s an order from our favourite shopping app, food delivery, or a new PAN card application, we want to know when it will be delivered.

Knowing the status of my PAN card helped me plan my bank account application when I was a teenager. I was able to check my PAN card status online and was happy to know that my PAN application was accepted. Wasn’t that great?

You, too, can track PAN card status by logging into NSDL (National Securities Depository Limited) or UTIITSL (UTI Infrastructure Technology And Services Limited) website or searching for the following keywords on the Internet: “track pan card status NSDL” and “UTIITSL pan card status tracking portal”.

Applying for a PAN card

There are three ways to apply for your PAN card:

  1. You can apply for your PAN card through the NSDL or
  2. You can go to the UTIITSL website.
  3. There is even an offline way to apply for PAN through the district-level PAN agencies. The fee for a PAN card application is ₹93 plus GST if your address for communication is in India. You will have to pay ₹864 plus GST for your PAN application if you have a foreign communication address.

If your PAN card application is accepted, you must send copies of physical documents by courier or post to NSDL or UTIITSL. Once the documents are received and verified, you will receive a notification about your PAN card.

Updating your PAN card

Remember I told you I got my PAN card when I was a teenager? My PAN card had a casual photograph where I looked pretty different. So, I thought of changing my PAN photograph when I landed a job.

To change your photo or any other detail on your PAN card, you can update your PAN card through the same application portal.

You can change your details and share supporting verification documents, and you will get a new PAN with the modifications in place. You can apply for a digital PAN or both digital and physical cards.

When I changed my photograph, I also tracked my PAN status online.

What are the steps for tracking your PAN card?

Tracking your PAN card status is as simple as tracking a parcel online. You need to have an acknowledgement number called the application coupon number in the UTIITSL portal. You can also check the status through your Aadhaar number or Permanent Account Number (PAN) (if it’s for corrections). Your PAN status will be available after 24 hours of your application.

However, the initial form to check your PAN status is slightly different for NSDL and UTIITSL.
